St. Barnabas Hospital Gets Winter-Ready with Our Sidewalk Restoration in the Bronx

Blog, Restoration

St. Barnabas Hospital recently needed repairs to exterior walkways and sidewalks, an important project in advance of a New York winter. The project involved fixing over 14,000 sq ft of sidewalk adjacent to the hospital, located at 4422 Third Avenue in the Belmont section of the Bronx. The repairs were done by All Boro, the restoration and construction company that works with commercial, residential, and non-profit organizations by providing services that fix, build, and maintain their quality of life.

While the sidewalks, curbs, and roadways in the five boroughs are owned by the City of New York, property owners are responsible for maintenance and repairs. We think it is about clearing snow, ice, and debris, as owners are liable for personal injuries that are caused by failure to maintain sidewalks in a reasonably safe condition. It can also come as a surprise that the statute of limitations on injuries resulting from a defective sidewalk is three years from the incident, so leaving repairs unattended can be expensive beyond the repairs themselves.

Sidewalks must be free of cracks, holes, ice, snow, and any debris. Holes as small as 1-inch in diameter, or concrete raised as little as a half-inch can cause injuries. Apart from liability, defects also subject a property owner to city ordinance violations. Further, sidewalk repairs require permits to do the work.

All Boro can handle any repair, restoration, or construction project from start to finish, including assessment, permits, and all work required. They are professionals in restoration, remediation, construction and maintenance to fix, build and maintain structures and access in the five boroughs of New York, and on Long Island.

All Good. All Done. All Boro.
